You may already have seen our interview with Dr. Gary Schnittjer about his book, The Torah Story: An Apprenticeship on the Pentateuch. It’s an excellent survey of the first five books of the Bible that identifies its overall message, a story that sets the stage and shapes the rest of the Bible storyline. If you missed it, you’ll want to catch up here. It’s an important book that will enhance any study of the Pentateuch.

We mentioned in the interview that Zondervan has just now released a video series in which Dr. Schnittjer walks us through his entire book, chapter by chapter – 29 chapters in all. Serious Bible education for individuals at home, for small groups, or your Sunday School class. Schnittjer has read the Pentateuch – and the Bible – closely, and his The Torah Story has much to offer.
