I am very happy to see this book released now in its second edition. I have happily recommended the first edition (Reverberation)—even made it required reading in some courses—since its initial release in 2011.

One thing is necessary in our churches—hearing God’s Word through preaching, reading, singing, and praying. (p.20)

Leeman’s book is given to expound and apply this simple proposition. You already know that God’s Word is basic and central to every aspect of the church and its life. But I wonder if you adequately appreciate its happy potential. My guess is that wherever your thinking is on this matter—whether you are a brand new believer or a long-experienced pastor—this book will make your heart throb as you consider afresh how this proposition ought to shape every aspect of the church’s ministry.

Leeman presents this basic church essential with engaging clarity and exciting prospect. It is simply “must” reading for ministerial students, pastors, and anyone involved in church leadership. And then the congregation should read it also so that the entire church will be of one mind and one heart in their desire to be what God has called them to be.

Very highly recommended! Buy it by the case, and spread the word.
