A Brief Book Notice from Books At a Glance
by Fred G. Zaspel
We’ve all seen views of “science” change over the years – with regard to health sciences, nutrition, climate issues, and so on. We’ve seen declarations of “science” dictated by faulty presuppositions and even funding considerations. Even with regard to the “hard sciences,” our understanding of the electron, for example, has varied up to the presently accepted quantum view. Add the theory of evolution, and all this has left many skeptical about science itself.
Hans Madueme writes here in his well known area of expertise to clarify the relation of faith / Christianity and science. The accepted scientific method has deep roots in Christian thought, and Madueme demonstrates how the two are not enemies but friends.
This book is the most recent entry in The Gospel Coalition’s Hard Questions series, and it provides a helpful clarification in brief.
Highly recommended.
