A Brief Book Notice from Books At a Glance
by Fred G. Zaspel
Christians for centuries used creeds and confessions of faith to articulate the essentials of Christian teaching. In my own early years they had fallen out of use in many circles, but recent decades have seen renewed interest – a good sign, surely.
In Creeds, Confessions, and Catechisms, Chad Van Dixhoorn provides thirteen of the church’s most significant documents (see Table of Contents below) in a single collection with a brief historical introduction to each and with comprehensive subject and Scripture indexes. Beautifully produced in hardcover – a lovely book for the desk or gift. A wonderful resource.
