“My Coffee Cup Meditations are short, easy-to-read, Bible-based devotions to help you consider God’s greatness, the wonderful gospel of Jesus, and be better equipped for life here and hereafter.” That’s the short mission statement for these 144pp, 31-day devotional books by Roger Ellsworth, prepared by Great Writing Publications. For readers who prefer eBooks, they are available on Kindle from Amazon.

These user-friendly resources are very intentional in presenting the gospel in an engaging and easy-to-read way, and they do so with a short Bible quotation on one page, and then with up to three further pages explaining, illustrating, and applying the text. Using ordinary, day-to-day illustrations, these readings are simple (yet not simplistic) presentations of Bible truth, and are easily used by people of all ages, from fairly young children to senior adults. They are great for use in family devotions.

So far, six books have been published and Book 7 is presently in preparation. The titles are:

The publisher makes the following points about this growing series—they are:

  • Collectible (a total of twelve are planned)
  • Quick and easy to read (typically a five-minute reading time is used)
  • Affordable ($12.99, and often much less from Amazon)
  • Worth telling others about (e.g., great to use in small groups as well as family devotions)
  • Great for a coffee break (or whenever you need to take a short time to reflect on a biblical truth or event)

With an app presently in preparation, the series is also promoted on Facebook, and there is a dedicated website (with an occasional blog) to foster an interest in the series. See
