We just have to give our readers a heads-up on P&R’s new edition of their Warfield titles. Collected mostly from his larger 10-volume Works these volumes have served a generation of Christian readers with a rich resource of biblical scholarship.
John J. Hughes has been hard at work revamping these volumes for the new edition, providing introductory summaries and some light editing. I was delighted to assist him in providing some related study material also. This new edition will make Warfield accessible to further generations in its beautiful new format.
So far two volumes are available: The Inspiration and Authority of the Bible, and The Person and Work of Christ. Warfield was of course a landmark in the history of doctrine with respect to the doctrine of inspiration—all discussion since has been but a footnote to Warfield’s momentous study. But it is in the person and work of Christ that find Warfield’s heart of hearts. In both volumes, you will find yourself deeply informed and richly blessed. No serious student of these doctrines can afford to be without these volumes.
