A Book Review from Books At a Glance

by Kristin Stiles

This delightful board book is part of “A Beginner’s Gospel Storybook” series. This book focuses on the miracles that Jesus performed during His earthly ministry. The miracles covered are: changing water to wine, calming the sea, healing the blind man, and raising Lazarus from the dead. Each story is presented in very simple language accompanied by colorful and engaging illustrations. Each miracle represents a characteristic of Jesus. Little ones will learn that Jesus is good and powerful; that He is truly God; that He can heal sick people; and that He can bring dead people back to life.

Jesus is Bigger Than Me is wonderfully interactive with questions that relate to a young child’s life and pictures that can extend learning with counting, identifying opposites, and making fun sounds. Scripture references also accompany each miracle to allow parents to show their children where in the Bible the account is recorded.

This book would be a fantastic way to introduce toddlers to Jesus and to help them understand why He is the most important Person ever.

Kristin Stiles is a home-school mom, a Sunday School teacher, and helps lead the “Young, Reading, & Reformed” children’s ministry at Reformed Baptist Church of Franconia, PA.
