Important and influential though he was and is, few of us know anything at all about Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900). And frankly, not many of us have the stamina to read through his writings to learn what it was he had to say. In fact, I have to admit that I wasn’t sure what to expect even with a Tweetable Nietzsche! But I will say it – this is one easy and even enjoyable way to learn the ideas of an important philosopher.
Ivan Spencer has done us a great favor. Tweetable Nietzsche introduces and analyzes the worldview of Friedrich Nietzsche in bite-size pieces. Nietzsche’s tweets, 140 characters or less, provide readers a distilled essence of every major aspect of his worldview, and Spencer follows up each with a couple of brief paragraphs of background and explanation.
This was really a very good idea. I hope Spencer will follow up with more of the same on some other of history’s renowned (and notorious) philosophers!
