We are delighted to announce the release of The Life-Line Mini-Book Series from Shepherd Press, brought together under the general editorship of Paul Tautges, our own Review Editor for Counseling here at Books At a Glance. These little books constitute a wonderful new resource for the church with titles on a wide range of subjects pertinent to us all at some point.
These shirt pocket size “mini-books” – “booklets” might be more descriptive – run just 50-60 pages, written by a variety of experienced contributors, and the amount of winsome biblical counsel they have packed into these little pages is surprising. The first title I read was from Paul and Karen Tautges, Help! My Toddler Rules the House, and I immediately decided to buy one for each of the young families in our church.
These mini-books treat a wide range of subjects such as parenting, single parents, struggles with pornography and same-sex attraction, dealing with an unfaithful spouse, abuse, and many other issues faced in the real life of every congregation. Ours is a fallen world marked by suffering, sadness, failures, sins, and brokenness of all kinds. But the gospel of Christ is a message of redemption and restoration, and it offers a message of hope to us every aspect of our fallenness. It is to this wonderful end that these booklets are written. We join Shepherd Press in hopes that they will find wide use in our churches.
